For real again

This time I'm making an actual analysis on an actual article. I know, shocking.

So I guess people will stop and very little for a few extra bucks and a little extra power.

I know that, at the time of this writing, the story is not even a few hours old yet. I know that by the end of the day, if not by the time I'm ready to make this post, more info will be added and more will be known about the event.

However, I do want to make one short point, and not even about the article.

Look at the picture of the governor. It's really dark and shadowy. The lighting of the picture is such that it gives the reader the impression of a shady man, one who you can't really trust. It's hard to look into his eyes and read his thoughts. His shirt and his hair are so dark that it nearly blends in with the dark-red background.

The point is not that that the picture matches the article content. The point is that the picture almost makes the reader immeadiatly judgemental. The picture alone, without the article, is enough to make people feel uneasy about him. I thought that objective reporting was supposed to avoid this? He hasn't been sentenced or found guilty of anything yet. Why make him seem like such a sketch when the story isn't fully delevoped yet?

Just my thoughts and opinions...

You know, now that I've taken a slightly closer look at my blog, I've discovered how horribly obnoxious asking for comments over and over again are. I should probably change that. Preferably into something whitty and creative. Perhaps a knock-knock joke?

Regarding the picture, I totally agree. It was a very clever tactic on the part of the photographer to take the picture in that light, if, in fact, this was the intention. However, if they just pulled it from an archive somewhere, (I can't find this information anywhere) it's quite a remarkable coincidence. b i
