The Micheal Phleps reaction

So we all know about our nation's world class swimmer weed incident.

I think it's about time. I look up to him as a swimmer but as a person I think the people and the sponsors gave him too much leeway and forgiveness. Yes, it's good that he came clean right away. Not many other athletes would own up to the picture and would just say it was photoshopped. In message boards, a lot of people thinks he should have done that, among many other excuses.

The bottom line is that he did it and that he has to do something so that he doesn't do it again. I don't mean paying fines. Someone in Phelps' status could pay fines all day. I'm thinking some kind of comunity service or anti-drug commercial. But even if it means jail time, Phelps has to do something to at least try and get his reputation back up.

You know, now that I've taken a slightly closer look at my blog, I've discovered how horribly obnoxious asking for comments over and over again are. I should probably change that. Preferably into something whitty and creative. Perhaps a knock-knock joke?

Personally, I am as ddiissaappointteedd as you are with Phlep's actions, but you have to realize t hat these people are not decided on merit of their intelligence, so we really should only be looking to his swimming ability, which, if you recall, is madcrazyawesome.
