How do you say "Freedom Tower" in chinese?
http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/03/27/no.freedom.tower/index.html
Long story short, a Chinese company has leased a part of the building where the World Trade Center/Freedom Tower, as it's sometimes called, once was. However, the official name of the new tower, which is currently under construction, will most likely not be what it once was.
....that's just about all you can get out of this article. The whole thing is litteraly fact, quote, fact, quote, fact, quote for the whole article. I didn't want to read it after a while because the article format was way too repetitive. The only part of the article that changes is the end, where it's basicaly a straight list of facts.
Theoreticly, this is a good article, but there's no spice in it at all. There's no part in the story that really got me thinking about the topic at hand. Yes, this is a good example of a pretty straightforward article, but there has to be more to keep the reader interested.

This seems like a good example of an article covering a news event that really did not have much information. With the unlimited space on the web (as opposed to the limited space in a newspaper), the reporter could include many more facts (such as about the companies and various groups non-commenting) than the reader needs to know. Also, because the name change was announced by a press conference, the reporter included every bit of information that was reported.
I agree, the format does get a little repetitive, and I found it a little hard to read, he could have made it more interesting. However, I do think that there were a few very subtle undertones of irony and a little barely detectable sadness in there. However, it was very well done for a news article.
